Child of the 80s

I can recall a lot of the 80s but didnt realize what a special era I was living in and have many fond memories of that time...what a colourful, fun and creative decade it was. How I miss those simple pleasures and everything was so innocent and carefree!   We didnt have the internet but we had pen pals. I had an old school banana seated pink bicycle which I rode to Girl Scouts get togethers. Roller skating rinks were cool, and we had skates not rollerblades. I had a big sticker collection mostly Scratch and Sniff ones and I had an obsession with unicorns. This was back when trick or treating was fun and streets were safe for kids
I remember playing Pac-Man , Frogger, Donkey kong,  Space Invaders, Qbert on my Atari
I had toys like Rainbow bright, Cabbage patch, Garbage Pail kids, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears and just about everyone owned a rubiks cube
I liked Wham, Aha, Tears For Fears, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, MJ, Culture Club…oh and Tiffany
My favourite shows were Silver spoons (LOVED Ricky Schroder ) Knight Rider, Facts of Life, Mork & Mindy, Threes Company, The A-Team , Wonder Woman and even The Greatest American Hero    There was nothing better than watching cartoons like the Scooby doo, Smurfs, He-man, Richie Rich, The Littles, The Last Unicorn, The Berenstain Bears, Inspector Gadget..etc
I could never get enough of the Goonies (which my first movie theatre experience with friends), Gremlins, ET, Superman, The Lost Boys, Never Ending Story and Labyrinth

Ill never forget the neon hair ties/clothing, jelly shoes, rubber bracelets, MAD magazines, Kool aid, pop rocks, snoopy snow cone machine, Chuck E Cheese  and ‘Wheres the Beef!’
It was a nice time in my life but as a kid then, I was 16 by the end of the 1980s. This was the decade to be a kid and I hope to never forget all those good memories… this is really making me feel old now but warm and fuzzy..what a great time it was.   It would be interesting to read about 'children of the 90’s and 2000'
